The girls kicked things off on the BOS Center court with Lanphier High School vs. Springfield High School - Illinois The Senators came out hot, grabbed the lead, and took the win, but let’s be clear: the Lanphier cheerleaders never let the energy dip and the Lion Pom Squad were fantastic at halftime.
And the Solon cheerleaders + spirit section? Always loud, always iconic. Add in student sections showing up in full creative-costume mode and you’ve got peak City vibes. Superintendent Gill was in the mix, spending time in every spirit section.
Then came the moment everyone loves, All-City Cheer. All four schools. One floor. Core memory unlocked.
Game 2 brought the grit. The #1-seed Springfield Southeast High School Spartans took on SHG, and it was a battle. Tight moments, big plays, and the Spartans held off the Cyclones for the win. Halftime belonged to the Spartan Poms, the cheerleaders kept the hype rolling, and yes, the Spartan mascot pulled up to make sure the crowd stayed LOUD.
Night one was a vibe, see you back for Night Two!
