As we prepare to say thank you to Superintendent Jennifer Gill, we’re celebrating a legacy that is deeply rooted in District 186. A proud homegrown leader, Mrs. Gill once walked our halls as a student, then returned to serve as a teacher, assistant principal, principal and for the past 12 years, superintendent. Her journey is a powerful reflection of what’s possible within our schools, and her leadership has always centered on what matters most: our students.
Earlier this week, several of the schools where she learned and led rolled out the red carpet, to celebrate her and wish her well in retirement. She also made special visits to all three high schools to spend time with her Superintendent’s Roundtable students, a group she has connected with month after month, listening, learning, and lifting up student voices.
She has led with compassion, vision, and an unwavering commitment to creating opportunities for every student. Her impact will be felt for generations to come.
As she prepares to retire at the end of June, we thank her for her years of service, her heart for this community, and the difference she has made in countless lives.
