District 186 will be conducting Developmental Screenings this May for children who may be eligible to enroll in Pre-K for the 2026–2027 school year and now is the perfect time to reserve your spot.
A Developmental Screening is like a “learning check-up” designed to better understand your child’s growth and development.
During the screening, our team will look at:
• Speech and language development
• Problem-solving skills
• Fine and gross motor skills
• Social and emotional development
Any family living within District 186 boundaries is welcome to request a screening for their child.
What to bring to your appointment:
• Your child’s original certified birth certificate (to verify age)
• Proof of household income or public benefits
Please note: A Developmental Screening is required before enrolling in Springfield Public Schools Pre-K programs.
