Senators show responsibility by following through and keeping commitments that they make.  If you are doing a group project, do your part. If you participate in a club or sport, attend all the meetings and practices. If you tell your family you will be home at a certain time, don’t be late.  When you keep your word, people will not only view you as responsible but also as someone they respect and rely on. The Homecoming Dance is this Saturday, October 3rd at SHS from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Students will not be admitted after 8:00 p.m. Students will enter through security at the main doors off Lewis Street. Tickets are $15 per person. All students will pass through metal detectors and a bag search for entry. If a SHS student is bringing an outside guest, the proper guest form must be filled out in its entirety and returned to the Guidance Office by Thursday, October 1st at 3:30 p.m. Late forms are not accepted. Guest forms are available in the Guidance Office. All guests must have valid picture identification. No exceptions will be made on the form or guest IDs in the name of safety and security. Guests must arrive/leave and stay with their SHS student at all times.

Students on both lunch shifts - you may not bring any computer bags or trapper like binders into the cafeteria while getting your hot lunch. You can leave computer bags in your locker or outside the cafeteria while you get your lunch.

*PSAT/NMSQT sign-up is now available in the Guidance Office.  The PSAT/NMSQT is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for Juniors; however, freshmen and Sophomores can also take the exam.  The due date to sign up is October 1st.  The cost is $18 and can be paid with cash or check.  The test date is Tuesday, October 20th. Any junior or senior who is interested in working at an election site on November 3rd from 6am to 7pm, please see Mr. Lightfoot for an application and details. To apply, you must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and parent permission.

Seniors and Juniors - college rep visit season is upon us. Check Canvas announcements and the college visits tab for info about who is coming and when they are. This week, 3 visits are scheduled, and more will make their way to SHS in the coming weeks. See Canvas for more info or ask Kramer. 

Solon Olympics is the best night of the year. Come out and watch all four classes compete against each other in dodgeball, pyramid building, tug of war, volleyball and more. Let's pack the Aux gym tonight from 7-9 pm to help build Homecoming spirit. 

The girls swimming and diving team continued their win streak with a win against Porta 175-93.  Elle Milliman celebrated her birthday with a win in diving and a 1st place finish in the 500 freestyle.  Chloe Scheffler took first in the 200 IM and the 100 Butterfly.  Emma Herrin took first in the 200 freestyle and the 100 freestyle.  Hannah Reinbold took first in the 50 freestyle, Naomi Becker took first in the 100 backstroke and Illana Bekker took first in the 100 breaststroke.  Congratulations on a great meet.

Debate club will meet on Thursday until 4:00 p.m. in Room 3330.
