Freshmen Forward is at SHS on Thursday, August 13th from 8:24 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. This is optional for incoming freshmen and provides students with a chance to tour the building, meet teachers, and learn about life at SHS.
Freshmen should not bring any materials to Freshmen Forward. Freshmen may receive their Chromebook at on the 13th. If students do not receive a Chromebook, they will receive one during the first week of school.
Students who attend Freshmen Forward must be registered before the 13th and may be dropped off after 8:00 a.m. that day, at the Lewis Street entrance.
Student Parking Information for Senior Students:
Student parking spaces on the SHS campus are quite limited when compared to requests. On-street parking is also limited due to the proximity of SHS to downtown businesses. We strongly suggest that only students who have a definite need to drive to school should be allowed to do so. Senior parking permits will be available for purchase on Friday, August 14th from 8:30-11:30 am and 1:30-3:00 pm in the main office (second floor room 250). The cost is $75 (cash or check). Items needed: valid driver's license, current vehicle registration and valid insurance card. Permits must be purchased in person by the student, parent, guardian or grandparent. If a student does not have a vehicle or a driver’s license at this time, they will not be eligible for a parking spot. Please see the parent/student email for additional details.
